Madrid - Palacio de comunicacionesMadrid is the capital and most sunshine city in Spain. Here all people quickly become friends and find the love. Madrid is located in the center of the Iberian Peninsula, on the banks of a small river Mansaranes, at an altitude of 667 meters above sea level. With this arrangement, the climate in Madrid - continental, with hot summers and colder in winter with low rainfall.

Madrid - one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Here preserved medieval buildings, and classical buildings architecture XVIII-XIX centuries. As tourist center Madrid began to develop in the second half of XX century and now Madrid visited about 7 million tourists.

One of the main cultural attractions of the city is The Prado Museum, founded Isabella Braganskoy, wife of Ferdinand VII. Since 1819, the museum is located in building as The Royal Museum.Twice a year in bullfights is held, attracting millions of tourists from around the world.

Madrid at nightThe afternoon is a good time to have a look round the big stores and shopping centers. One may acquire artistic products of Spanish handicraft and antiques.

At night time Madrid is quite different from any other European capital, because people do not only go to theatres and night-clubs. They also sit in cafés after dinner and have a coffee or a beer, or they may go for a walk. All the streets in the centre of Madrid are filled with people until very late.

Madrid is known for its restaurants; with typical Spanish food such as paella Valenciana, cod Vizcaya style, baby roasted lamb in a wooden oven and of course the wonderful “Tapas” and the famous drink, sangria.

Madrid´s barMadrid possibly has the largest number of bars per capital of any European city and a very active nightlife; Madrileños are known to stay up until as late as 6AM-8AM. It is important to note that, due to this lifestyle, lodging located near the Gran Via may end up a nightmare for light sleepers.

Madrid has become very modernized as of late, with an elaborate transportation network comprised of buses and the Metro. The city contrasts with some large European cities in that it is extremely clean, and city employees in bright yellow vests can almost always be seen cleaning the streets and sidewalks. Like most large cities, however, there is a substantial population of vagrants and beggars lining the streets.

Madrid is one of the biggest and most cosmopolitan cities in Europe. Communities of West Africans, North Africans, Latin Americans, other Europeans, Chinese, Indians, Filipinos and Pakistanis are prominent.
